Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor various industrial machines to ensure efficient production flow.
• Assist in the manufacturing process by picking up parts and moving them to designated stations.
• Perform manual tasks such as grinding and smoothing metal parts to meet quality specifications.
• Use hand tools and power tools effectively to modify or finish manufactured components.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the manufacturing & logistics facility to ensure safety standards are met.
• Conduct regular quality checks on parts to identify defects or irregularities.
• Assist senior operators with equipment setups and changeovers.
• Transport materials across the shop floor, ensuring the production line remains stocked.
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Complete daily production logs and documentation accurately.
Qualifications
• Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds and perform regular lifting of 20 pounds.
• Reliable transportation to the Brantford facility is a must; the location is not always transit-accessible.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is highly preferred.
• Experience with grinding or metal finishing is considered a significant bonus.
• Being mechanically inclined or having experience with hand tools is an asset.
• Ability to stand for long periods (8-hour shifts) on a concrete floor.
• Commitment to a Monday-Friday schedule with a 7:30 am start time.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory for experienced candidates.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to work with your hands.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
• Solid teamwork skills, with a focus on supporting the broader manufacturing & logistics objectives.
• Basic math skills for measuring and counting parts.
• Problem-solving abilities to address minor technical hiccups during machine operation.
