Role: General Machinist
Shift: Days Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm
Location: Cambridge
*Please note, in order to be considered for this role you must have prior experience working as a general machinist specifically machining weldments on a mill (horizontal boring mills).

Responsibilities
- Maintain and service equipment through preventive maintenance and repair coordination
- Troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical and operational issues
- Manufacture, modify, and repair precision tools, jigs, and fixtures according to specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Prepare and load/set up the raw material or die sections in the machine
- Run and program CNC machines using provided CAD/CAM data (primarily Mastercam)
- Interact with CAD specialists/Toolmakers to refurbish/improve/build spares
- Use of various equipment/tools to create and repair tooling, including, but not limited to, grinders, welding equipment, machining equipment, and overhead cranes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Qualifications
- Min 5 years experience setting up & machining on medium to large horizontal machining centers & boring mills
- Min 5 years experience setting up and machining large castings and weldments
- Must be able to read & edit G & M code
- Must be familiar with selecting/building/picking up tooling
- Strong understanding of materials, specifically pertaining to tool speed & feed selection
- Strong understanding in selecting/setting up & using a variety of inspection tooling
- Must be familiar with Renishaw probing
- Strong blueprint reading with good understanding of GD&T
- Must be familiar with Fanuc controls
- Strong background with overhead cranes specifically pertaining to large part rigging, manipulating & loading(15,000 lbs)
- Good understanding of weld & fabrication processes
- Must be able to effectively train/teach/coach other machinists/operators
- Strong ability to troubleshoot machine function related issues
