Responsibilities
Phase 1: Facility & Grounds Maintenance (75% of Role)
-General Building Repairs: Perform routine interior and exterior facility maintenance, including drywall patching, painting, changing light bulbs, and minor plumbing or carpentry repairs.
-Groundskeeping: Maintain the external property by cutting lawns, trimming hedges, clearing debris, and managing seasonal grounds requirements.
-Waste & Waste Management: Coordinate the safe handling, sorting, and disposal of standard facility garbage, recycling, and manufacturing waste materials. Ensure all waste is securely stored in designated areas prior to site removal.
-Health, Safety, & Compliance: Regularly inspect the property and building to identify potential environmental, health, and safety hazards. Recommend corrective measures to ensure strict compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company policies.
-Sanitation & Housekeeping: Execute facility cleaning and sanitation protocols as required to maintain a safe, clean, and organized industrial workspace.
Phase 2: Technical & Production Support (25% of Role)
-Equipment Assistance: Assist the maintenance team with day-to-day repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on production machinery (including drives, motors, belts, pumps, conveyors, and fillers).
-Preventative Maintenance (PM): Utilize OEM manuals and diagnostic data to help determine PM frequencies. Create work orders for performed tasks and accurately maintain clerical maintenance records within the company tracking system.
-System Operations & On-Call Duties: Assist with water system maintenance, including participating in scheduled and unscheduled off-hours system sanitization procedures. Remain available for rotational off-hours on-call coverage for building security and water system alarms.
-Continuous Improvement: Participate in incident investigations to help identify root causes of equipment or safety issues. Provide feedback to management on productivity improvements and continuous improvement activities.
-Quality Standards: Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 9001 specifications to ensure all quality and regulatory standards are consistently met.

Education
High School Diploma required.
Post-secondary education, technical certifications, or trades training is preferred.
Experience
3+ years of practical, hands-on maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proven experience with general building upkeep (drywall, basic electrical/plumbing, landscaping).
Familiarity with basic manufacturing equipment components (pumps, conveyors, basic electrical, or exposure to PLCs) is an asset.
Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., consumer chemical, packaging, food, cosmetics, or pharmaceuticals) is highly valued but not required.
