Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted HR advisor to employees and managers within the Technology and Operations teams in Canada
Provide strategic and day-to-day HR support to managers and employees on HR guidelines, procedures, and employment legislation
Partner with managers and provide guidance on performance management, coaching, and development planning
Manage employee lifecycle changes (e.g., promotions, transfers, terminations)
Coordinate with local and global HR partners to ensure Canadian HR practices are aligned with enterprise initiatives while meeting local regulatory requirements
Participate in cross-functional HR projects, contributing insights and execution support to enterprise-wide initiatives
Advises and influences critical workforce activities, including but not limited to promotions, performance, year-end compensation, talent management, and key cross-HR initiatives
Support organizational changes and workforce planning
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of HR generalist experience; financial services industry experience preferred
Strong knowledge of provincial and federal employment legislation
Ability to exercise independent judgment and effective problem-solving skills
Proven experience advising managers and leaders on strategic HR topics (e.g., talent management, employee relations, org design, change management)
Ability to prioritize high volume, competing priorities for multiple stakeholders and in turn deliver balance of advice and counsel with strong execution capabilities
Must have experience working directly with/consulting a business leader on HR strategy
Experience supporting technically complex and geographically dispersed groups of employees
Strong relationship management skills, and the ability to develop strong interpersonal alliances at all levels; team player willing to share and leverage best practices
Strong consulting, project management and process thinking abilities; can plan, build and execute (often simultaneously)
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal
1) Excellent communication & relationship building skills
2) Strong Critical thinking & problem-solving skills
3) Strong knowledge of provincial & federal employment legislation
