On behalf our client, we seeking an experienced HR Business Partner with strong Labour Relations expertise to support a public sector organization during an active collective bargaining cycle. This is a high-impact contract role requiring hands-on experience in unionized environments, grievance management, and formal labour documentation. The successful candidate will work closely with HR leadership to support negotiations, manage ER/LR matters, and ensure accurate tracking and reporting across multiple collective agreements. Responsibilities
- Support collective bargaining sessions, including detailed note-taking and action tracking
- Draft Letters of Understanding (LOUs) and labour-related documentation
- Manage and support grievance processes
- Provide ER/LR guidance to managers
- Maintain accurate tracking tools and prepare executive summary reports
- Conduct research and prepare briefing materials as required
- Ensure documentation accuracy, formatting, and compliance
Qualifications
- Ideally 5-7 years of progressive HR experience
- Strong experience in unionized environments
- Direct involvement in collective bargaining preferred
- Experience managing grievances and drafting formal labour documents
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field
- CHRP/CHRL designation considered an asset
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
