Responsibilities
What you will be doing in this role:
1. Strategic Business Partnership & Org Design
-You will collaborate directly with business leaders to identify and prioritize the organizational capabilities, behaviors, and team structures needed to hit our strategic goals.
-You will partner closely with our Talent Acquisition squad and hiring managers to build proactive staffing plans, navigate project assignments, and manage talent redeployment seamlessly.
2. Modern Leadership Coaching & Talent Management
-You will act as a trusted coach to our management team, guiding them through the lifecycle of people leadership, from performance management and talent development to compensation strategy and terminations.
-You will empower leaders to handle difficult conversations, navigate workplace conflict, and champion respectful workplace practices before issues escalate.
3. Labor Relations Mastery & Advocacy
-You will serve as our internal expert on all labor and employee relations matters. This means owning collective agreement interpretation, guiding workplace investigations, handling conflict resolution, and managing grievances and discipline with absolute objectivity.
-You will ensure everything we do remains strictly compliant with provincial legislation (BC Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Code, and Human Rights Code) while keeping our corporate culture intact.
4. Projects, Change, & Data
-We don’t believe in making decisions based on "gut feel." You’ll leverage modern HR technologies and data metrics to spot trends, track organizational health, and inform leadership decisions.
-You’ll play a key role in driving organizational change initiatives, workforce development activities, and cross-functional HR projects.
Qualifications
Relevant Experience: 5-8 years of HR experience, preferably in a unionized environment
Educational Background: Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, or a related field of study is preferred.
Professional Designation: CPHR designation is strongly preferred (or currently in progress).
