Responsibilities
Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to hourly employees and floor supervisors. Address grievances, conduct objective investigations, and resolve conflicts efficiently.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for production, skilled trades, and administrative roles. Coordinate and lead engaging orientation sessions for new hires.
Floor Presence: Maintain a strong, visible presence on the manufacturing floor to build trust, understand operational challenges, and proactively address employee concerns.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to local labor laws, EEOC, and OSHA/health and safety regulations. Partner with the Safety Committee to investigate incidents and manage workers' compensation claims.
Off-Shift Support: Occasionally adjust your schedule to support and connect with second or third-shift employees.
HR Administration: Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, manage timekeeping tracking for payroll processing, and oversee leave administration (FMLA, short-term disability, etc.).
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience: 3+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment (required).
Certificates: HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or CHRP) is highly desirable. OSHA or safety-related certifications are a strong asset.
Skills: * Deep knowledge of employment standards, labor laws, and safety regulations.
Proven capability to handle sensitive employee relations issues with empathy and fairness.
Strong proficiency with HRIS software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Excellent bilingual or multilingual skills (e.g., English/Spanish) are a massive plus depending on your plant's demographic.
