They are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join their safe, clean, and highly collaborative manufacturing facility in Calgary. This role is a perfect fit for a proactive troubleshooter who focuses on root-cause analysis to keep production running smoothly.
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be a vital part of the maintenance team, executing preventative programs, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring the long-term reliability of advanced production machinery.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Calgary, AB
Schedule: 5x8 Mon-Fri Rotating or straight shift TBD
Environment: Clean Manufacturing / Industrial (Warm temperatures in summer months)
Wage: $48.13 per hour + Shift Premiums ($0.90/hr for afternoons, $1.35/hr for midnights)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause: Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues on plant equipment, implementing permanent, long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
- Emergency Response: Rapidly respond to equipment and building breakdowns, balancing temporary fixes with permanent repairs based on production constraints.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute predictive and preventative maintenance programs, including regular machinery checks and lubrication.
- Collaborative Support: Partner daily with Engineers, Millwrights, and Operators to optimize equipment reliability.
- Equipment Installation: Assist with the installation of new plant machinery and occasionally support light fabrication.
- Mechanical Repairs: Handle mechanical-related repairs, heavy equipment adjustments, and antifriction bearing fits as assigned by maintenance leadership.
Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Certification: Valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate (Red Seal preferred) and a High School Diploma.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong technical knowledge covering both complex electrical systems and general mechanical work.
- Communication & Drive: Good verbal and written communication skills paired with a positive, proactive initiative.
- Flexibility & Fit: Ability to work a weekly rotating shift schedule and comfortably handle warmer seasonal temperatures.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check, pre-employment medical evaluation, and a clear drug test.
