Responsibilities
Install & Commission: Lead new equipment layouts, machinery assembly, and precision alignment for automated processing and packaging lines.
Troubleshoot & Repair: Rapidly diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic breakdowns under production pressures.
Controls Diagnostics: Handle a 70% Mechanical / 30% Electrical split—isolating faults on low-voltage circuits, VFDs, sensors, and Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLC systems.
Own the PM Program: Optimize the plant CMMS/PM schedule to eliminate repetitive downtime.
Fabricate: Perform hands-on MIG/TIG welding and modifications on the fly.
Qualifications
Ticket: Valid Ontario 433A / 443A Millwright License preferred (Mechanical Engineering degrees with strong hands-on automation experience actively considered).
Experience: 5+ years of industrial maintenance inside a high-volume food, beverage, or commercial bakery facility (mandatory).
Asset Mastery: Proven troubleshooting history with automated mixers, industrial tunnel ovens, spiral coolers, high-speed flow wrappers, automated baggers, and pumps.
Compliance: Strict adherence to GMP, HACCP, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols
