Responsibilities
• Operate effectively within a spray booth to paint large-scale commercial items including truck boxes, dump trailers, and flatbeds
• Perform comprehensive washing and sandblasting to prepare metal surfaces for coating and finishing
• Select the appropriate industrial paint and meticulously mix paints according to pre-determined formulas and specifications
• Operate heavy-duty equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, or otherwise prepare stationary items for the application of paint
• Utilize hand-held spray guns to accurately spray paint or coat items, ensuring an even and durable finish
• Execute painting on smaller components and apply precise touch-ups to guarantee product perfection
• Clean, inspect, and maintain all painting and coating machinery, ventilation systems, compressed air tools, and personal protective equipment
• Mark, record, and promptly report any product defects or inconsistencies to the quality assurance team
• Clean and perform thorough preparation of the work-site before and after shifts to maintain efficiency
• Complete all required job control documents, inventory logs, and related administrative reports such as timecards
• Maintain the assigned work area and all equipment in a safe, professional, and highly organized manner
• Foster a safe, clean, and legally compliant workplace by adhering to all company and industry regulations
• Identify and accurately document potential environmental and safety problems, reporting them directly to members of the Joint Health & Safety Committee
• Maintain exceptional product quality standards throughout all phases of surface preparation and painting
• Operate various types of supporting manufacturing machinery safely and as required by production schedules

Qualifications
Requirements
• Previous hands-on experience in industrial painting, sandblasting, or heavy commercial vehicle coating
• Demonstrated ability to operate spray booths, prep stations, and compressed air systems safely
• Familiarity with mixing industrial coatings and applying them to large-scale metal fabrications
• Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and operate physically demanding equipment
• A strong commitment to adhering strictly to health, safety, and environmental guidelines in a manufacturing setting
• Willingness to perform daily maintenance and cleaning of all painting equipment and the surrounding workspace
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location for designated in-person shifts
• A proactive mindset with the ability to identify potential hazards and report them to the safety committee
