Responsibilities
• Execute full-cycle Industrial Painter duties, including meticulous surface preparation, priming, and the application of specialized topcoats.
• Perform high-pressure blasting and abrasive cleaning to achieve the precise surface profile required for maximum coating adhesion.
• Monitor and maintain all manufacturing & logistics painting equipment, including airless sprayers, pressure pots, and blasting cabinets.
• Mix and thin various industrial coatings, such as epoxies and urethanes, ensuring correct viscosity and color matching for the industrial manufacturing project at hand.
• Inspect finished surfaces for defects like sags, runs, or uneven thickness, ensuring every piece meets the rigorous standards of the manufacturing & logistics industry.
• Document all coating applications, including batch numbers, environmental conditions (humidity/temperature), and drying times.
• Maintain a pristine work environment, ensuring that the paint booth and blasting areas are clean and compliant with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the broader manufacturing & logistics production team to ensure parts move through the shop efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
• Practice rigorous safety protocols, including the correct use of respirators and protective gear essential for a professional Industrial Painter.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an Industrial Painter or sandblaster within a manufacturing & logistics or automotive setting.
• Proven track record of success in surface preparation, specifically blasting for proper profile and cleanliness.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards related to chemical handling and high-pressure equipment in industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to work effectively in Thamesville, Ontario, with reliable transportation.
• Trade certification or vocational training in industrial finishing or a related field is considered a significant asset.
• Capability to lift heavy components and work in physically demanding positions for the duration of a shift.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Mastery of industrial coating systems used in industrial manufacturing, including primers, enamels, and high-performance topcoats.
• Expert-level proficiency in abrasive blasting techniques and measuring surface profiles to ensure coating readiness.
