Responsibilities
The Inside Sales Representative role is multifaceted and requires a dedicated professional to manage the following core duties:
• Efficiently and accurately process sales orders for non-residential construction products.
• Respond promptly to customer product inquiries via telephone and for walk-in clients.
• Develop and maintain deep product knowledge regarding hundreds of specialized construction applications and part numbers.
• Act as the primary point of contact, facilitating clear communication between suppliers, accounting, warehouse staff, and operations.
• Understand the specific project needs of a diversified customer base to provide tailored solutions.
• Coordinate with incoming and outgoing freight suppliers to optimize logistics and shipment efficiency.
• Prepare detailed customer quotes and proactively follow up to secure sales.
• Communicate critical information and leads to the outside sales representative team.
• Manage high-volume incoming calls, redirecting them to appropriate departments or servicing customer needs directly.
• Prioritize multiple tasks daily with a consistent commitment to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Inside Sales Representative position, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:
• 1–2 years of experience in an inside sales or customer service-related role.
• Preferred post-secondary education in a general business, sales, or customer service program.
• Excellent skills in MS Office, including solid experience in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Experience with Epicor - P21 software is looked upon favorably.
• Excellent English skills, both oral and written.
• Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with a commitment to a high degree of accuracy.
• Capable of handling demands from a variety of sources and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to take personal initiative and demonstrate a strong motivation to succeed.
• High ethical standards and a positive, energetic, and self-motivated attitude.
