Responsibilities
• Respond promptly to inbound customer inquiries via phone and email, providing accurate product, pricing, and availability status updates.
• Prepare detailed sales quotations and process customer orders within the Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP system, ensuring all technical dimensions and modifications are accurately recorded.
• Follow up systematically on open quotes and inactive customer accounts to improve overall sales conversion rates and identify opportunities within assigned territories.
• Configure project specifications using internal automation tools to determine exact hardware requirements, such as specialized tracks and springs, without requiring manual mathematical calculations.
• Coordinate closely with production scheduling, warehouse operations, logistics, and customer experience teams to verify lead times and ensure on-time delivery.
• Proactively communicate order status updates, potential shipping delays, or supply chain adjustments directly to clients to maintain high satisfaction levels.
• Maintain complete and accurate customer profiles, communication logs, and account notes within the central database to provide total visibility to management.
• Resolve client complaints, order discrepancies, and billing questions efficiently, escalating complex technical issues to the department manager while maintaining ownership of the customer relationship.
• Assist the warehouse and logistics teams by preparing documentation for material packing, shipping, and delivery verification.
• Adhere strictly to all corporate regulations, safety standards, and operational guidelines while acting as a professional brand ambassador.
• Additional administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working on an order desk, in customer care, or in an inside sales capacity.
• Previous experience working within the steel manufacturing, building products, construction supply, distribution, or installation industries is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of managing high-volume data entry and order processing with strict accuracy.
• Demonstrated experience navigating complex corporate databases, ERP software, or CRM communication channels.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site at the Milton, Ontario manufacturing facility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage relationships with industrial contractors, dealers, and internal manufacturing teams.
• Proficiency with modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, specifically Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar customer relationship management (CRM) software.
• Strong data entry skills, with an acute eye for detail regarding pricing matrices, account discounts, and freight costs.
• Great time management and prioritization abilities, with a proven capacity to manage order backlogs and juggle multiple urgent tasks simultaneously.
• Problem-solving capabilities to handle customer delivery issues and resolve order discrepancies calmly and professionally.
