This is a blended 50% Service / 50% Sales role where you will manage a book of business while actively drawing in new clients. Since this is an individualistic, one-person office environment, dependability and accountability are paramount.
Sales and New Business: Actively upsell and cross-sell insurance packages (home and auto) to existing clients, draw new business into the office, and participate in community promotion and potential cold-calling efforts.
Client Service & Policy Management: Serve existing policies, conduct needs assessments, process renewals, and handle retention calls.
Underwriting & Approvals: Write new policies, seek underwriting approval, and communicate with Underwriters and Adjusters to discuss guidelines and policy changes.
Administrative Dependability: Maintain the office operations. Must be highly reliable and dependable to ensure the office remains open and functional (office closure may occur if the individual is absent).
Process Compliance: Utilize broker management systems (like EPIC) and specialized databases to accurately process changes, issue certificates, and maintain records.
Service Level Excellence: Answer and manage a high volume of approximately 12–15 inbound calls and walk-in clients per day, aiming to answer calls within 20 seconds.
