Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Auditor embedded within the Corporate Accounting function, your responsibilities will include:
•Core Accounting & Analysis: Execute monthly variance reporting and manage monthly/quarterly journal entries.
•Consolidation & Insurance Captive: Support the accounting and consolidation processes for insurance captives and programs.
•Financial Disclosure: Prepare complex financial statement note disclosures and support MD&A requirements.
•SAP & Treasury Testing: Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and IT teams to conduct SAP testing related to treasury derivatives and foreign exchange (FX) requirements.
•Audit & Compliance: Apply an auditing mindset to test financial processes, ensuring alignment with internal controls and reporting standards.
•Quarter-End Support: Provide necessary support during critical quarter-end close periods (overtime may be required during these cycles).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
•Experience: 6+ years of progressive, related experience in financial auditing, public accounting, or corporate accounting.
•Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
•Certification: Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent.
•Core Technical Skills: * Strong, practical knowledge of US GAAP and consolidation principles.
oDemonstrated hands-on experience and proficiency with SAP.
oProven auditing background with robust testing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Industry Experience: Prior experience working within a large organization, the energy/oil & gas sector, or a mid-to-large public accounting firm.
•Systems & Modules: Understanding or exposure to BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) and TRM (Treasury and Risk Management) modules is a significant asset.
•Technical Exposure: Prior experience handling foreign exchange (FX) requirements and technical accounting complexities.
•Mindset: Exceptional analytical capabilities paired with an unwavering attention to detail.
