Our client is looking for an Intermediate Business Analyst for a 6 month contract in Toronto.
This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities
• Business Analysis:
Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, workflows, and systems within the transit agency and bus operations.
Gather, analyze, and document comprehensive business requirements, user stories, use cases, and functional specifications through various elicitation techniques (interviews, workshops, surveys, etc.).
Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Create and maintain detailed documentation, including process flows, data models, and system diagrams.
• Product Ownership:
Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams, representing the voice of the customer and business needs.
Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business value.
Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the Agile software development lifecycle, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Translate high-level business requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution among stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery.
Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
Monitor product performance post-launch and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
• 5+ years conducting in-depth analysis of business processes, workflows, and systems within the transit agency and bus operations.
• 5+ years gathering, analyzing, and documenting comprehensive business requirements, user stories, use cases, and functional specifications through various elicitation techniques (interviews, workshops, surveys, etc.).
• 5+ years defining, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business value.
• 5+ years overseeing user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of combined experience in Business Analysis and/or Product Ownership roles.
Demonstrated experience working within a Transit Agency is essential.
Proven experience on projects with understanding the unique stakeholder landscape, procurement processes, and regulatory environments.
Strong understanding and experience with Bus Operations, including but not limited to, dispatch, scheduling, fleet management, maintenance systems, and real-time information systems.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Transportation Planning, Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex issues into manageable components.
Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to facilitate productive meetings, drive consensus, and influence outcomes.
Experience with requirements management tools and techniques.
Proactive, self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:
Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CSPO).
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
Familiarity with UX/UI principles.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and requirements.
