Responsibilities
The Intermediate Business Analyst will be responsible for:
- Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Interacting with business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather, document, and analyze business needs and requirements. Applying sound processes for requirements gathering, including JAD sessions, interviews, and mockups.
- Agile Delivery: Working in agile/iterative delivery teams, demonstrating expert knowledge in writing detailed user stories and creating business process maps/diagrams.
- Documentation & Modeling: Documenting a wide range of deliverables, including:
- Functional and Non-functional requirements (FNRs)
- System Requirements Specifications (SRSs)
- Business Process Models (BPMs)
- Data Requirements / Models (conceptual / logical)
- Business and System Use Cases
- Requirements Traceability Matrices
- Solution Strategy & Feasibility: Leading and conducting business analysis to assess client problems, applying re-engineering concepts to promote business improvements, and conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis for I&IT initiatives.
- Technical Interface: Providing high-level and detailed estimates for new functionality or changes. Investigating, analyzing, and estimating system applications in large integrated complex environments.
- Project Monitoring & Reporting: Monitoring progress, resolving problems, and reporting regularly to I&IT management and stakeholders, including proactively raising risks/issues with mitigations.
Qualifications
Must-Have Experience:
- Experience with engaging business and IT stakeholders, understanding requirements, and providing high level and detailed estimates.
- Experience working in agile / iterative delivery teams.
- Proven experience in investigating, analyzing, and estimating system applications in large integrated complex environments.
- Expert knowledge/experience in writing detailed user stories and creating business process maps/diagrams.
- Extensive experience with documenting deliverables (FNRs, SRSs, Business Process Models, Data Models, Use Cases, Traceability Matrices, Test Plans, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with JAD/Sprint session facilitation and the ability to interpret business needs to technical requirements.
- Experience with requirements development involving elicitation, analysis, specification, and validation.
Desired Skills (Assets):
- Demonstrated experience with implementation of business solutions using Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solutions, such as Oracle Siebel based systems.
- Experience with prototyping tools to deliver high-quality prototypes and mock-ups.
- Experience with business process mapping tools such as Visio.
- Experience working in accordance with policies and procedures of the company.
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Digital Service Standards.
