Responsibilities
- Project Governance: Manage all phases of the project lifecycle (concept, definition, planning, implementation, and closeout) following PMI standards and I&IT best practices.
- Financial Oversight: Manage large project budgets with high levels of fiscal accountability, including detailed estimating, forecasting, and reconciliation of actual costs.
- Vendor & Procurement: Lead vendor management activities, including the development of business cases and management board submissions for long-term support and maintenance contracts.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify inherent and developing project risks; perform options analyses and recommend robust mitigation strategies to project champions.
- Strategic Coordination: Align project schedules with resource availability and Public Safety Operations, ensuring that technical and operational accountabilities are clearly defined.
- Executive Reporting: Provide authoritative recommendations, briefing notes, and executive presentations to senior management and steering committees.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse clients, managing expectations across functional areas with high political acuity.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of IT Project Management experience, specifically managing large-scale, complex projects within a large enterprise team.
- Technical Domain: Demonstrated experience with backend technology for radio and paging systems, as well as Enterprise Content Management.
- Methodology: Expert knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management tools such as MS Project and SharePoint.
- Financial Acumen: Proven track record of maintaining strict fiscal control over large project budgets.
- Sector Expertise: Experience with the land ambulance sector or 24x7 critical operations is a significant asset.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to prepare briefing notes and presentations for C-suite and senior executive levels.
- Resource Management: Proven ability to identify and acquire technical resources and resolve interpersonal conflicts within a team.
