Responsibilities
Ceremony Facilitation: Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Backlog Management: Partner with Product Owners to refine backlogs, define tasks, and assist teams in forecasting Sprint Goals through effective story selection.
Project Governance: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, risk logs, and status reports while monitoring and forecasting project costs to ensure fiscal accountability.
Team Leadership: Source and onboard team members, clarify roles and responsibilities, and resolve interpersonal or resourcing conflicts within a matrix environment.
Agile Coaching: Ensure the delivery team adheres to core Agile principles of collaboration and visibility, while helping the organization overcome resistance to change.
Performance Tracking: Utilize Azure DevOps to create queries, monitor pipelines, and generate burn-down reports to track progress across various projects.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify potential risk events and articulate mitigation strategies to senior executive stakeholders.
Qualifications
Scrum Master Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role for software development teams diligently applying Scrum principles.
Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with Java, Oracle, and IBM BPM projects.
Tool Proficiency: Advanced skills in Azure DevOps (for backlog and defect management), Microsoft Project, and Visio.
Process Expertise: Deep understanding of both the traditional System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile iterative development concepts.
Certifications: Scrum Master certification is highly preferred.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to lead technical teams and facilitate stakeholder forums.
Public Sector: Experience with large-scale modernization initiatives or public sector project delivery is considered a strong asset.
