Responsibilities
Agile Team Facilitation
• Facilitate Agile and Scrum ceremonies including:
o Sprint Planning
o Daily Stand-Ups
o Sprint Reviews
o Retrospectives
o Backlog Refinement sessions
• Support effective team collaboration and communication.
• Promote self-organization and team accountability.
Delivery Planning and Coordination
• Support quarterly and sprint-level planning activities.
• Assist teams in defining and maintaining delivery roadmaps.
• Track progress against commitments and delivery objectives.
• Support dependency identification and management across initiatives. Impediment Management
• Identify, document, and help remove delivery impediments.
• Escalate issues and risks where appropriate.
• Facilitate discussions and decision-making required to maintain delivery momentum.
Agile Coaching and Continuous Improvement
• Coach teams on Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean delivery practices.
• Support continuous improvement efforts through retrospectives and action planning.
• Encourage adoption of modern delivery, collaboration, and planning practices.
• Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.
Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement
• Provide status reporting and delivery metrics as requested.
• Support communications with business and technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to portfolio-level planning and coordination activities.
Qualifications
Demonstrated Experience:
The proposed resources must demonstrate:
• A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience serving as a Scrum Master on Agile delivery teams.
• Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and Agile planning activities.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams delivering digital products or services.
• Experience managing delivery risks, issues, impediments, and dependencies.
• Experience coaching delivery teams in Agile principles and practices.
Preference may be given for the following:
• Experience delivering digital services within the public sector.
• Experience supporting multi-team or portfolio-level Agile delivery environments.
• Experience working with citizen-facing digital services.
• Experience supporting service design, product management, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, Miro, Microsoft Teams, or similar Agile delivery tools.
• Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent Agile certification.
• Experience working within Government of British Columbia or broader public-sector environments.
