Responsibilities
Solution Design: Create hosting technology solutions based on service specifications, standards, and cost models to meet business requirements.
FHIR Authority: Design and govern FHIR standards, profiles, extensions, and value sets; act as the design authority for modeling decisions and documentation.
Standards Management: Manage FHIR profiles using Simplifier.net and ensure extension versioning for compatibility across various consumer systems.
Data Mapping & ETL: Perform complex data mapping from source systems (HL7v2, proprietary schemas) into FHIR R4 models and build associated ETL pipelines.
Security & Access Control: Define FHIR metadata and tagging strategies to support security, privacy, and access control across downstream consumers.
Platform Integration: Align solution designs with Azure Health Data Services (AHDS) capabilities, addressing search, filtering, and pagination limitations.
Development: Hands-on development using TypeScript, Java, or Spring Boot to build FHIR bundles, search parameters, and transactions.
DevOps & API Governance: Implement RESTful API patterns, manage CI/CD pipelines, and enforce access rules via authorization interceptors.
Qualifications
FHIR Expertise: Deep understanding of HL7 FHIR semantics, constraints, resource relationships, cardinality, and coding.
Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of FHIR server implementations, specifically Azure Health Data Services.
Technical Stack: Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
Integration Standards: Experience with SMART on FHIR, OAuth/OIDC, and security architecture patterns like Microsoft Entra ID.
Tooling: Familiarity with Simplifier.net, HAPI FHIR, and integration platforms such as Kafka or ActiveMQ.
Documentation: Proven ability to produce high-quality mapping and modeling documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
