Inventory Clerk

As an Inventory Clerk in the manufacturing & logistics sector, you will play an essential role in keeping production running smoothly and ensuring complete accuracy across all inventory records. Working closely with the shipping, sales, and material handling departments, you will be responsible for tracking raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility. From conducting regular cycle counts and annual inventory audits to managing order fulfillment data, your work directly impacts operational efficiency, cost management, and overall supply chain success.

In this multifaceted Inventory Clerk role, you will utilize enterprise MRP software such as CSI10 alongside tools like Microsoft Excel to track stock movements, analyze job quantity variances, and execute production job close reconciliations. You will also collaborate directly with the sales department by calculating exact carton and crate counts per pallet—including total weight and dimensions—to support precise customer quotes and bidding processes. Furthermore, you will work closely with material handlers to ensure materials are issued accurately to active production jobs, verify that finished goods are properly put away, and serve as key backup support for shipping and receiving operations.

Responsibilities
• Track all incoming goods, raw materials, component supplies, and finished products throughout the warehouse and manufacturing facility.
• Execute daily and weekly cycle counts as well as participate in comprehensive annual physical inventory audits to guarantee stock record accuracy.
• Perform thorough quality checks on stored inventory, identifying discrepancies and properly discarding or reporting non-conforming items according to strict company quality standards.
• Maintain, update, and audit digital inventory records daily within CSI10 or equivalent MRP systems, sharing real-time status updates with management and key stakeholders.
• Implement loss prevention initiatives and control programs to proactively minimize inventory discrepancies and stock shrinkage.
• Liaise directly with the sales department by calculating carton and crate requirements per pallet, providing precise weight and quantity metrics for customer quotes and contract bidding.
• Work in close coordination with material handlers to verify that required raw materials are issued to production jobs correctly and on schedule.
• Conduct thorough checks to confirm that both component items and completed finished goods are accurately put away in designated storage locations.
• Serve as reliable secondary backup support for the shipping and receiving department during peak production periods and staff absences.
• Perform end-of-job close reconciliations, conduct detailed job quantity variance analyses, and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.

Qualifications
• College diploma in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical work experience.
• Proven prior experience in an Inventory Clerk, stock controller, material handler, or warehouse inventory role within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on working knowledge of CSI10, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar MRP/ERP platforms, along with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated track record of performing accurate cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and variance analysis in an industrial setting.
• Ability to fulfill physical workplace requirements, including lifting materials, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders safely.
• Must be available for an immediate start in Brantford, Ontario and legally eligible to work in Canada.
