In this role, you will apply your accounting expertise to support full-cycle accounting operations and financial reporting for the ministry. You will play an active role in executing month-end processes, performing variance analysis, maintaining financial dashboards, and supporting both internal and external reporting requirements. Working on-site in Edmonton, you will interact with various business entities to gather and share key financial data for budgeting and forecasting.
•Work Model: 100% On-site
•Location: Edmonton, AB
•Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break)
•Contract Duration: October 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027

Responsibilities
•Prepare and post journal entries accurately.
•Assist with month-end reporting, bank reconciliations, and general account reconciliations.
•Support Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), business partner record maintenance, and capital asset tracking.
•Conduct variance analyses, investigate balance abnormalities, and review accruals and trial balance accounts.
•Assist with customer collections and financial record maintenance.
•Gather and disseminate financial data across business entities for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
•Analyze financial information to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
•Complete other related accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting and financial analysis.
•Resume Detail Requirement: Resumes must clearly describe all relevant experience within the specific context of the job or project where it was gained. Every listed job/project must explicitly use the MMM/YYYY to MMM/YYYY date
•References: Must provide three (3) professional references for whom similar accounting/financial work was performed, with the most recent reference listed first.
