Responsibilities
•Support the launch and administration of a new pension management system (Telus Health platform)
•Process pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan documents and regulatory requirements
•Maintain and reconcile pension system data for annuitants, withdrawals, and valuation reporting
•Prepare and file tax-related documents (e.g., T4As, AIRs, PAs, PSPAs, PARs)
•Participate in the monthly pension payroll process and issue annual pension statements
•Perform internal control testing for annual Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
•Assist with documentation, validation, and testing of departmental procedures
•Liaise with external auditors for financial statement preparation and verification
•Communicate professionally with pension members, employers, union reps, actuaries, and custodians
•Support ad hoc finance and pension-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
Required:
•Post-secondary education, preferably in Finance or a related field
•Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
•Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
•Exceptional time management with the ability to manage high volumes of work accurately
•Effective verbal and written communication skills; team-oriented mindset
•Self-starter willing to support others and take initiative beyond core responsibilities
Preferred:
•Experience with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans
•Familiarity with Telus Health pension administration systems
•Understanding of relevant pension and tax legislation (e.g., Income Tax Act, pension standards)
•Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and compliance procedures
