Responsibilities
In this Payroll Specialist position located in Mississauga, you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage the full payroll lifecycle—from data entry and time & attendance imports to final calculation and commitment—directly within the Ceridian Dayforce HCM platform.
- Execute accurate, high-volume semi-monthly payroll runs, ensuring timely payment schedules are met for all salaried and hourly staff in ON and QC.
- Ensure strict compliance with Quebec's distinct legislative requirements, including accurate calculation and remittance of the Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) and Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP), alongside federal deductions.
- Prepare post-payroll journal entries and perform complex reconciliations of all payroll liability accounts, including Employer Health Tax (EHT) for Ontario and Health Services Fund (HSF) for Quebec.
- Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) via the ROE Web system, and actively participate in the preparation and validation of annual tax slips (T4s, Relevé 1s) and year-end governmental filings.
- Conduct rigorous pre- and post-payroll auditing to guarantee data integrity, address discrepancies, and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Canadian payroll processes within Dayforce.
Qualifications
In this Payroll Specialist position located in Mississauga, we are looking for:
- PCP or PLP designation preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience processing payroll for Canadian employees is required.
- Multiprovince payroll processing experience is required.
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a strong asset.
