• Timely implementation of projects into DSM tracking systems of all potential, active and completed projects that are verifiable and capable of withstanding the audit and verification process and provide specific support during customer audit verification process as required.
• Attend and present energy efficiency programs at customer meetings, applicable trade shows, energy forums, and events. Promoting energy conservation and representing the Company brand successfully.
Scope Dimensions:
• Revenue Generation: Meet or exceed individually assigned annual Energy Conservation targets in order to provide maximum shareholder value
• Resource Management: Self-motivated to meet specified scorecard and offering targets
• Relationship Management: Develop strong customer and external relationships to meet program targets, customer needs and protect the Company brand.
• Business Partner Relationships: Maintain and grow positive working relationships with business partner’s community (contractors, distributors, wholesalers, equipment manufacturers and consulting engineering firms) that deal with end-use customers on products and services that involve natural gas.
• Safety: Actively support the path to zero safety incidents, demonstrating safety leadership and ensuring team members put safety first.
Contacts (Working Relationships):
Internal
• Majority of role is focused on developing strong relationships with customers (i.e. company owners, energy managers, plant managers, property managers, etc) and business partners (as defined in the Accountabilities section above) in order to have them participate in Company’s Energy Conservation programs.
• Work with peers in the Energy Conservation team, particularly, Technical Review, Program Design, Evaluation and Audit, and Marketing.
External
• Business partners (builders, developers, HVAC contractors, equipment suppliers and manufacturers, consulting engineers, and municipal contacts
• Industry Associations e.g. HRAI
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
• Related University degree in engineering (preferably (preferred in mechanical, chemical or electrical Engineering).
• Minimum four or more years of project engineering or project management and sales experience in commercial sector environments. For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required.
• Experience with energy management, demand side management, and sustainability principles.
• Exceptional understanding of commercial HVAC systems and design.
• Strong technical and analytical aptitude.
• Self-motivated, self-starter, and able to operate independently but work with a team of like-minded professionals.
• Customer and results focused.
• Proven skills in leading and influencing without explicit authority.
• Proven time management skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects while managing personal time.
• Superior written and verbal communication ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Confident presenter and public speaker.
• Strong relationship-building, problem-solving skills, and negotiation skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a responsible driving record.
• Some knowledge of building sciences and new construction in relation to the Ontario Building Code
Preferred:
• Membership in Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
• Energy Management certification (such as Certified Energy Manager or Energy Manager in Training)
• Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP)
• Operational knowledge or Design experience in HVAC, Boilers, and BAS control systems, building construction
Working Conditions:
• This role is a mix of office based (50%) and field based (50%) and requires travelling mainly within Ontario including overnight
• Regular visits to customer facilities and job site to assess energy efficiency opportunities on a weekly basis
• A valid Ontario G class driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required
Pay rate is between $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
