We are currently hiring a dedicated Paralegal for a temporary 3 to 6-month opportunity. In this role, you will handle litigation related to life and health insurance, specifically group disability benefits, life insurance, critical illness, and extended health insurance.

To be considered for this role, you MUST have a minimum of five years of relevant experience. You must also possess experience in litigation and have an intermediate knowledge of insurance law.

Clear Day-to-Day Expectations:
Overpayment Management: Manage files relating to overpayments of insurance funds, including drafting correspondence and negotiating payment plans.
Small Claims Support: Assist lawyers with small claims actions including drafting pleadings, and settlement conference documents. You will also be preparing evidence and trial books.
Supreme Court Support: Assist lawyers with supreme court matters including drafting pleadings and filing documents. You will prepare documents for trial including trial briefs, evidence books and books of authority.
Advisory Services (Claims): Provide advice and guidance to the business regarding claims handling, and overpayments.
Advisory Services (Subrogation): Provide advice and guidance to the business regarding subrogation claims and handles legal correspondence about the same.
