Responsibilities
• Operate and drive straight trucks and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently to transport a variety of goods and materials across regional routes.
• Complete local and short-interurban deliveries, managing schedules effectively within the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.
• Perform comprehensive pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring full compliance with all transportation regulations.
• Monitor vehicle condition closely, checking equipment, load security, and cargo integrity to prevent damage or safety hazards.
• Load and unload freight manually or with material handling equipment, ensuring the safe and secure handling of all client products.
• Assist with daily warehouse operations during peak periods or between runs, including order picking, organizing, and inventory handling.
• Operate a forklift or reach truck safely within the warehouse environment to move, stack, and stage heavy pallets and shipments.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, structural logbooks, and transport documentation in alignment with provincial compliance standards.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, occupational health guidelines, and Ministry of Transportation regulations at all times.
• Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with receiving teams and client representatives at various drop-off locations.
Qualifications
• Valid Class 1 Driver’s License issued by the province of British Columbia.
• Clean commercial driver’s abstract demonstrating a proven history of safe driving and adherence to transportation laws.
• Verifiable hands-on experience operating straight trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar heavy machinery within a commercial capacity.
• Valid forklift or reach truck certification is a strong asset, or a firm willingness to undergo training and certification upon hire.
• Prior experience navigating commercial transport routes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island regions.
• Ability to comfortably perform physical tasks, including lifting, moving freight, and assisting with manual warehouse duties as needed.
• Commitment to maintaining a drug-and-alcohol-free workplace to ensure compliance with strict commercial safety standards.
• Must be legally entitled to work full-time in Canada for our client and pass any standard compliance or background checks required.
