Responsibilities
• Schedule and coordinate trucking for inbound and outbound pipe shipments.
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any order or shipment issues promptly.
• Follow up with late drivers and efficiently resolve any issues they encounter on the road.
• Analyze and optimize logistical procedures for enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Professionally communicate with customers, addressing queries via phone, email, or fax.
• Establish and maintain a reliable carrier base for new and existing accounts.
• Respond to all customer and driver communications (email, phone, messaging) to expedite issue resolution.
• Prepare accurate reports for upper management.
• Provide essential general administrative support, including filing, data entry, scanning, and correspondence.
• Handle courier services, ensuring efficient coordination with external parties.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in the trucking industry, freight, logistics, or a dispatch role (longevity in past roles is highly valued).
• Proven ability to work under pressure and handle a high volume of calls with composure.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a small internal team, management, load operators, truckers, suppliers, and customers.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in all documentation and data entry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong experience with Excel and Word, and the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
• Understanding of transportation laws and regulations in Canada and the USA (preferred).
• Ability to work independently (showing initiative) as well as a contributing member of a team.
• A background in business administration or a related field is considered an asset.
