Responsibilities
- Strategically plan movement of goods by selecting efficient routes and carriers while monitoring shipments for on-time delivery.
- Manage all shipping documentation (incoming/outgoing) and maintain accurate records of transactions and inventory.
- Liaise with external partners to negotiate shipping rates, lead times, and service levels to build strong operational relationships.
- Swiftly resolve discrepancies, disputes, and issues regarding shipping delays or damaged goods.
- Partner with internal departments to assess volume needs and align logistics with consumer preferences.
- Ensure full compliance with transportation laws, safety standards, and regulatory documentation, including permits and licenses.
- Continuous analysis of logistics strategies to identify cost-saving improvements, automation opportunities, and process upgrades.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in the transportation industry and/or logistics.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and customs paperwork.
- Sound knowledge of transportation rules, regulations, and Canadian customs.
- Familiarity with both domestic and international shipping processes is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Flexibility to manage business needs beyond regular hours, including weekends or after-hour calls if required.
