Responsibilities
- Obtaining quotes, booking freight (ocean, air, LTL, courier), generating labels, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Creating inbound/outbound shipment records, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with domestic and international trade laws, including HTS codes and customs declarations (e.g., CERS, EEI/SED forms).
- Proactively monitoring shipments, addressing delays with carriers, resolving delivery issues, and handling shipping claims.
- Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), analyzing data to identify cost trends, and implementing process improvements.
- Coordinating effectively with internal teams (operations, finance, sales) and external partners.
- Support in coordinating facility maintenance, ordering supplies and planning events.
- Communicate any shipment delays with customers as well as status on shipments.
- Assist with keeping the budgets on track and finding areas of improvement.
- Understand and value differences of individuals within the company, suppliers and customers.
- Expertly apply a deep level of knowledge in function to anticipate, mitigate and/or avoid issues.
- Consistently remove obstacles to achieve personal, team and company goals with time and budget constraints. Drive initiatives that benefit the broader good of the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Logistics, Supply Chain management or relevant working experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in a logistics operations, shipping coordination or a related role.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks desktop, transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, and strong Microsoft Excel skills are beneficial.
- Must posses valid IMDG & IATA Certification
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent designation is an asset.
- Strong focus on accuracy and quality in all tasks
- Excellent communication written and verbal for interaction with internal teams and external clients/vendors
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and work well with deadlines.
- Familiarity with logistics and regulatory changes.
- Effectively resolves conflict. Routinely demonstrate compassion and concern for others.
