Machine Builder

Position: Machine Builder
Payrate: $28-32/hour
Shift: Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm

Please note this is a contractual role for about 1-2 months with a possibility of an extension.

Responsibilities
Read, interpret, and work accurately from mechanical engineering blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics.
Assemble sub-assemblies and complete mechanical systems using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and precision measurement tools.
Align, fit, adjust, and secure mechanical parts, hardware, and structural frames.
Perform functional mechanical testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks during build phases to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Collaborate with engineering, electrical, and project management teams to resolve assembly issues or blueprint discrepancies.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace in accordance with company safety standards and guidelines.


Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, or Millwright in a custom machinery environment.
Blueprint Reading: Demonstrated proficiency in reading complex mechanical blueprints, exploded views, and technical drawings.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using pneumatic, electric, and manual tools, as well as precision tools (micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches).
Technical Skills: Understanding of mechanical linkages, drive systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics is an asset.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical assembly work.
Soft Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, detail-oriented mindset, and reliable teamwork skills.
