Responsibilities
As a Heavy Machine Operator, your duties will include:
Operating heavy-duty manufacturing machinery to form and press industrial brick products according to production specifications.
Performing consistent and thorough quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet strict company standards and client requirements.
Safely and efficiently handling raw materials and finished goods, including consistently lifting and moving items weighing between 20 and 50 pounds.
Conducting general labour tasks as needed to support the production flow, such as organizing materials, cleaning the workspace, and assisting other team members.
Monitoring machine operations to detect any malfunctions or deviations from standards and performing minor adjustments or basic troubleshooting to keep production moving.
Adhering to all health and safety regulations and protocols within the facility to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Maintaining accurate logs and records of production and quality control data.
Collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines in a key manufacturing & logistics role.
Skills
To be successful in this Heavy Machine Operator role, you should possess the following skills:
Proven experience as a Machine Operator, Production Worker, or in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machinery and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
The physical stamina and strength to consistently lift and handle heavy materials (20-50 lbs) throughout the shift.
A meticulous attention to detail, particularly for performing accurate quality inspections and identifying defects in products.
A demonstrated history of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
The ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a larger production team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to think critically in a fast-paced environment.
Forklift experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work area, reflecting the high standards of the manufacturing & logistics industry.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
Demonstrable experience working within a manufacturing & logistics or industrial environment.
Must have reliable transportation to the job site in Cambridge, as the location is not accessible via public transit.
The physical capability to consistently lift and move objects weighing between 20 and 50 pounds.
Must own a pair of CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots.
A positive and proactive attitude with a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Flexibility to perform both machine operation and general labour tasks as required by production demands.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
