As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in heavy metal fabrication processes. Your primary focus will involve working with heavy steel rolls and component parts weighing up to 50 lbs. You will operate specialized band saws to cut steel components to precise measurements, perform tapping and closing operations, and maneuver materials across the shop floor.
What You Need to Know
• Position Type: Temp-to-Perm opportunity with strong potential for permanent transition.
• Location: Langley, BC (Transit accessibility is limited; candidates who are able to drive will be given priority).
• Pay Rate: Starting $21.00 – $24.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
• Schedule: 6:15 AM to 2:35 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities
• Safely set up, operate, and maintain production equipment and heavy-duty industrial band saws for precision cutting.
• Lift, roll, position, and handle heavy steel components weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the production floor.
• Execute precise cutting, tapping, and closing operations on heavy steel ring products to meet strict specifications.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to perform routine assembly, finishing, and mechanical adjustments.
• Inspect manufactured components regularly using precise measurement tools to ensure strict adherence to engineering standards.
• Identify potential machinery errors or mechanical issues early and apply solution-oriented problem-solving techniques.
• Perform daily tasks in strict compliance with safety rules, company portal standards, and health guidelines.
• Complete formal training sign-offs, production documentation, and safety orientation modules.
• Communicate effectively with team members and lead hands to ensure continuous and safe production flow.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and assist with overall material handling within the department.
Qualifications
• Previous practical experience working as a Machine Operator or Technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and industrial cutting machinery such as band saws.
• Good understanding of basic machining processes and mechanical production workflows.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work standing up in an industrial setting.
• Uncompromising safety-conscious mindset and willingness to complete online safety training orientations.
• Asset qualifications: Possession of a First Aid ticket, forklift license, or overhead crane experience.
• Asset qualifications: Familiarity working with engineered drawings or CNC program operations
