Responsibilities
- Direct a team of 35 staff members and 2 lead hands, conducting annual performance reviews and providing ongoing mentorship to ensure operational excellence.
- Manage daily machine shop assignments using Mastercam and AutoCAD to meet strict customer delivery dates for custom, non-production parts.
- Supervise the operation of manual lathes, vertical milling machines, and saws, ensuring all G & M code programming is accurate and efficient.
- Enforce rigorous health and safety standards and lead regular toolbox talks to maintain a secure environment within the forge and heat treat areas.
- Collaborate with process technicians to drive continuous improvement and manage resource allocation to match fluctuating business activity.
Qualifications
- You must be a Machinist with at least 5 years of machining and programming experience
- You possess a minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Machine Shop Supervisor, Department Head, or high-level Lead Hand.
- You are an expert in G & M code programming and have professional experience utilizing Mastercam and 4-axis machining equipment.
- You have extensive experience working with heavy industrial materials like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and components weighing up to 30,000 lbs.
- You demonstrate strong English verbal and written skills, comfortable with public speaking and managing a diverse, tenured workforce in Paris.
- You must be able to pass a criminal background check
