Reporting to the Manager of Operations and working under the operational guidance of the Tax Administrator, the Mail Clerk is primarily responsible for providing critical mail and file room assistance to the Tax Services office during the demanding tax filing months of February through April.

Responsibilities
Mail and Filing Assistance: Efficiently assist with the daily operations of the mail and filing room.
Document Scanning: Accurately scan and organize tax documents into designated client folders using specialized equipment.
Notice Review: Review tax notices of assessment for changes and ensure proper filing within the client folder.
Client Communication: May involve contacting clients regarding outstanding packages or documents (back-office/telephone work).
General Duties: Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills & Experience
Education: Completion of post-secondary education. Students currently enrolled in relevant programs are welcome to apply.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of overall professional experience (may include relevant academic/internship experience).
Technology Proficiency: High level of comfort and savvy with technology, including the ability to quickly learn and utilize scanning equipment and tax systems.
Software Skills: Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Soft Skills
Communication: Strong, professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective internal and potential client interaction.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is critical for accurate document processing and filing.
Learning Ability: Quick learner who can rapidly adapt to established procedures and a fast-paced environment.
Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and help resolve issues efficiently.
Nice-to-Have (Assets)
Previous experience in a professional tax services environment.
Previous mail room or high-volume administrative experience.
Enrollment in accounting, taxation, commerce/business administration, or professional accounting programs (CA/CMA/CGA/CPA).
Familiarity with CCH TaxPrep software or CRA's EFILE Online/Represent a Client system.
