You aren’t just a developer; you are the primary steward of the Government of New Brunswick’s (GNB) most critical application. For 30 years, this custom-built HR/Payroll suite has ensured every provincial employee is paid accurately and on time. We are looking for a veteran who respects that legacy and has the vision to lead it into the future.
...
This is a rare "Bridge" role. You will maintain the deep, foundational logic of a Unisys OS2200 environment while simultaneously architecting its evolution through Azure DevOps and modern CI/CD practices. You are a master of the "old ways" - ECL scripting, Demand processing, and RDMS databases. You understand the nuances of a 30-year-old custom build because you speak the language. You are proficient with AB Suite (LINC) System Modeler and are ready to integrate legacy configurations into Visual Studio and automated build pipelines.
As the Mainframe SME, you are leading the transition from legacy LINC to AB Suite, staying current with modern enterprise tools while leveraging your deep mainframe expertise. You will ensure the absolute stability of high-stakes payroll operations. You’ll be the person who translates 1980s-era logic into 2026-era efficiency. It’s a niche "unicorn" skillset, and we treat it as such.
Who You Are:
A veteran of the Unisys ecosystem with deep LINC/AB Suite development experience.
Someone who understands that "mission-critical" isn't a buzzword - it's a commitment to the people of New Brunswick.
A technician who finds the bridge between legacy infrastructure and modern DevOps to be an exciting technical puzzle, not a chore.
