In this role, you will play an essential part in keeping maintenance operations running smoothly by managing stock levels, sourcing essential supplies, tracking parts sent for external repair, and maintaining equipment master files.
Advantages
- Competitive compensation - earning between $25.00 to $27.00 per hour
- Straight day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (no rotating shifts or weekends).
- Full-time 40-hour work week on a solid 12-month assignment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels of critical spare parts, consumable maintenance supplies, and safety stock; alert the Maintenance Buyer to initiate timely replenishments.
- Regularly update and maintain the inventory management database and tracking logs to ensure inventory counts reflect actual shelf stock.
- Source and coordinate with suppliers for required parts, products, and contracted repair services.
- Prepare and verify packing slips for equipment/parts going off-site for refurbishment or repair, as well as tracking borrowed parts across departments.
- Maintain records of all plant machinery and machine asset numbers; keep the machine master file up to date.
- Compile and generate reports, downtime history charts, and maintenance activity summaries for department leadership.
- Maintain clean, organized storage cribs in accordance with 5S standards, adhering to facility health, safety, and environmental protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, secondary school completion, or equivalent blend of relevant education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in an inventory control, crib attendant, parts coordinator, or maintenance purchasing role (manufacturing or automotive environment is a strong asset).
- Proven ability to read and interpret parts lists, SKU/stock numbers, technical specifications, and vendor quotes.
- Competency with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computerized maintenance management/inventory systems (CMMS/ERP).
- Ability to operate independently with minimal direct supervision while collaborating effectively with maintenance technicians, trades, and plant supervisors.
- Comfortable splitting time between an office environment and the active production floor.
