Trades Certification: Heavy Duty Mechanics or Millwright
Previous experience in a relevant field or in the mechanical field involved in the repair, maintenance and overhaul of equipment is considered an asset

Responsibilities
Install and align machinery and equipment to precise specifications.
Maintain, repair, and overhaul various equipment including diesel/gas engines, generators, high-pressure compressors, blowers, pumps, grinders, gear systems, conveyors, valves, and turbines.
Install and service piping systems, valves, meters, and conveyor systems including chains, sprockets, and drives.
Maintain internal combustion engines and related service records.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues reported at various sites.
Keep accurate maintenance records and share technical knowledge with operators.
Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics.
Stay up to date with technical knowledge relevant to the trade.
Assist with layout work and minor welding tasks.
Manage inventory of parts and materials.
May act in a supervisory capacity when required.
Ensure all work complies with safety policies, procedures, and WorkSafe BC regulations.
Qualifications
Grade 12 (or equivalent) and a valid Trades Qualification Certificate (Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright)
Minimum 4 years of relevant mechanical experience
Skilled in machine fitting, welding, pipefitting, and use of precision tools and machinery
Strong knowledge of large pumps, diesel/dual-fuel engines, and mechanical systems
Proficient in interpreting blueprints and operating hand and power tools
Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy, including experience with Word, Excel, and CMMS systems
Familiarity with safety standards and active participation in safe work procedures
Must supply a reliable set of hand tools
Physically capable of performing job duties
Willingness to work shift schedules as required
Other Requirements:
•Must own standard tools (specialty tools provided).
•Able to work in various conditions (hot/cold environments, confined spaces, ladders/aerial platforms).
•Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing physical tasks like reaching, kneeling, and standing for long periods
•Clean criminal record and valid Class 5 driver’s license
•Based in the BC Lower Mainland region.
