This is a critical role designed for a "proactive fixer" who specializes in mechanical reliability while bringing enough electrical awareness to partner seamlessly with the on-site Electrician.
As a Maintenance Millwright, you will focus on machinery maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision alignment, while working closely with the electrical team to quickly resolve complex breakdowns.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (2 positions available)
Location: Airdrie, AB
Schedule: Afternoon Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) OR Midnight Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Wage: $50.00 per hour (Single Ticket) $56.30 per hour (Dual Ticket)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
Mechanical Maintenance: Execute scheduled PMs, rebuilds, and repairs on high-speed conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and packaging machinery.
Electrical Collaboration & Support: Utilize basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills (sensors, motors, low-voltage control circuits) to support Electricians during complex breakdowns.
System Diagnostics: Rapidly identify root causes of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures using logical diagnostic techniques.
Precision Alignment: Perform accurate machinery leveling, drive alignment, bearing installations, and component replacements.
Safety Leadership: Prioritize a "zero-harm" culture by adhering strictly to LOTO (Lock-out/Tag-out), WHMIS, and strict food safety/GMP protocols.
Shift Collaboration: Partner with production teams and operators to optimize machinery performance and ensure seamless shift handovers.
Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?
Certification: Valid Journeyman Millwright Certificate (Red Seal preferred). Candidates holding a dual ticket (Millwright + Electrician) are highly preferred.
Electrical Knowledge: Practical understanding of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and sensor diagnostics to assist in cross-functional troubleshooting.
Experience: Previous maintenance experience within Food & Beverage, Pharma, or high-speed manufacturing environments is a major asset.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, and high-speed packaging lines.
Flexibility: Ability to commit to either the Afternoon or Midnight shift long-term.
