This is a "Jack of all Trades" role designed for a mechanic who excels at ensuring day-to-day operations remain efficient, from specialized packaging machinery to wastewater treatment systems.
As a Maintenance Millwright, you will be the backbone of the night shift operations, ensuring the facility is ready to meet production targets through high-quality repairs and proactive maintenance.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Schedule: 5x8 Monday to Friday, Nights (10:30 PM – 6:30 AM)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
- Equipment Maintenance: Install, troubleshoot, and repair specialized dairy processing, packaging, and material handling equipment.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures using root cause analysis.
- Utility Oversight: Monitor and maintain essential utility service equipment and wastewater treatment systems.
- Safety & GMP: Adhere to strict Food Safety (GMP) protocols and Workplace Safety standards to ensure a "zero-harm" environment.
- Documentation: Use SAP Mobile Maintenance/CMMS to accurately log work orders and maintenance activities.
- Continuous Improvement: Support 5S initiatives and recommend best practices to improve plant reliability and shop organization.
Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Certification: Valid Manitoba Journeyman Millwright Certificate (Red Seal Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial plant (Food & Beverage experience is a significant asset).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of gearboxes, pumps, welding, and reading mechanical/schematic drawings.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently on the night shift while collaborating effectively with the broader production team.
- Availability: Must be able to work the 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM shift and occasional weekend overtime.
