Responsibilities
In this role, you will be a key player in the facility's maintenance team. Your responsibilities will include:
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial piping systems, including those affected by corrosive and abrasive materials inherent to a wastewater treatment environment.
Troubleshooting and repairing complex piping issues to ensure minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
Interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to execute repairs, modifications, and new installations accurately.
Operating a variety of hand and power tools with expertise to cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes, fittings, and valves.
Collaborating effectively with operations staff, engineers, and other trades to coordinate maintenance activities and solve problems.
Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and industry standards, contributing to a safe and secure working environment for everyone on site.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
A valid Journeyperson Pipefitter Trade Qualification certificate.
Proven ability to accurately interpret plans and blueprints.
The ability to work effectively and safely in various conditions, including enclosed and low-light areas.
Demonstrated proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools specific to the pipefitting trade.
A valid B.C. Driver's License and a valid Health Certificate for watershed entry (upon hire) are mandatory.
Extensive experience working in industrial environments, particularly with systems exposed to abrasive and corrosive elements, is a significant asset.
