Valid Class 5 Power Engineering Certificate is required.
Interprovincial Red Seal Certification is strongly preferred.
Five years of previous manual machining experience in a fast-paced, shop setting is required

Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of maintenance technicians. Prioritize tasks, assign work orders, and coach team members on safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs to maximize machinery uptime and optimize facility performance.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and coordinate the repair of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and low/high voltage systems.
CMMS Optimization: Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track schedules, manage work orders, log equipment histories, and track spare parts inventory.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to occupational health and safety protocols, building codes, and strict food safety regulations (HACCP / GMP).
Inventory & Vendor Coordination: Maintain an accurate inventory of tools and spare parts. Monitor stock levels and collaborate with purchasing departments and external vendors to source materials.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in root-cause analysis, identify opportunities for process improvements or cost savings, and implement standard operating procedures.
Project Support: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to assist teams and collaborate on facility upgrades and machinery commissioning.
Qualifications
Certification: Valid Class 5 Power Engineering Certificate (BC Safety Authority) is required. Interprovincial Red Seal Certification (Millwright, Electrical, or related trade) is preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with a proven track record of at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment. Food processing or packaging facility experience is an asset.
Technical Proficiency: Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, motors, control panels, refrigeration units, and HVAC systems. Comfort utilizing tools like ohmmeters for diagnostics and troubleshooting PLCs/VFDs is preferred.
Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of industrial safety protocols, safety regulations, and compliance standards within a food production environment (HACCP, GMP).
Communication & Software Literacy: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficient computer literacy, specifically with CMMS software and maintenance recordkeeping. Adaptability & Drive: Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively under pressure, and lead teams through a fast-paced environment.
Scheduling Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, and provide emergency support if required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods during the shift.
Comfortable performing physical tasks that involve bending, climbing, reaching, and working in cold or humid processing environments (production floor/cold storage).
Aerial lift or forklift certification is considered an asset.
