Responsibilities
-Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with CSA and Provincial regulations.
-Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits across all work sites, including manufacturing facilities, installation sites, and service areas.
-Investigate all safety incidents (accidents, near misses, and violations), develop corrective actions, and track their implementation.
-Provide comprehensive safety training for employees, covering new hire orientations and ongoing refresher courses.
-Ensure proper use and maintenance of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.
-Collaborate closely with operations and field teams to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
-Maintain meticulous records of all safety inspections, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
-Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
-Act as a central point of contact for employee safety concerns, questions, and suggestions, addressing them promptly and professionally.
-Lead regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to foster a strong safety culture.
-Develop emergency response procedures and coordinate drills to prepare employees for potential workplace incidents.
-Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs for all company vehicles and equipment.
-Schedule and coordinate regular inspections, servicing, and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
-Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
-Work closely with operations to ensure equipment readiness and reliability.
-Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent required.
-Experience working in or with industrial manufacturing facilities.
-Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a safety management role.
-Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) an asset
-Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
-Strong attention to detail, very organized.
-Reliable transportation, not transit accessible
