Responsibilities
Ensure our most valuable asset—our team—is well supported, highly engaged, effective, and safe
Manage product flow through each manufacturing stage, resolving constraints and optimizing efficiency
Ensure shipping delivery times consistently meet internal objectives
Supervise and motivate the production, inventory/receiving, shipping and, quality teams
Oversee production staff scheduling and day-to-day coordination of activities
Ensure procedures, work instructions, and processes are followed accurately and consistently across all manufacturing functions
Own ISO-related activities, including process documentation and adherence, risk/impact/aspect assessments, process reviews, and effective root cause analysis
Meet or exceed established quality control objectives for the manufacturing team
Lead and manage ship holds, prototype processes, and aging sales orders
Manage the employee lifecycle within the team to support both growth and succession planning
Support the VP of Operations with strategic activities such as SWOT analysis and annual departmental planning
Ensure assembly documentation is kept accurate and continuously updated
Review and approve technical instructions from engineering and provide feedback to improve manufacturability
Ensure successful implementation of engineering changes across all process areas
Analyze product and employee quality data to create actionable plans that resolve and prevent failures
Drive lean methodology and foster continual improvement in both processes and products
Oversee maintenance schedules for production machinery and equipment, ensuring timely execution
Maintain efficient and effective inventory levels in line with manufacturing objectives
Manage the inventory cycle count process to ensure audit readiness and data accuracy
Manage the Health and Safety program and lead the team responsible for its implementation
Forecast staffing needs and report resource requirements as necessary
Communicate routinely and effectively with staff through regular team meetings
Conduct productivity reviews and provide performance feedback to team members
Complete annual performance evaluations for all direct reports
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Post-secondary education related to operations management, electronics or manufacturing
A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience and training
Strong computer and analytical skills to support operational decision-making and planning
Solid technical expertise in manufacturing processes (ideally electronics manufacturing)
A proven track record of leading manufacturing teams with a high degree of emotional intelligence
Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and IPC standards in an electronics manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Experience in workforce planning, shift scheduling, and performance improvement strategies
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies is considered an assetHands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar production planning tools
A history of successfully analyzing production data to drive operational improvements
Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and continuous improvement initiatives
