As a Manufacturing Technician, you are responsible for maintaining the flow of "World Class Manufacturing" (WCM). You will ensure that every component meets the rigorous quality standards required by the IATF 16949 system. This role is ideal for a Manufacturing Technician who enjoys troubleshooting automated welding processes and working with computerized data entry systems to maintain part traceability. Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor automated manufacturing equipment, specifically robotics and fixed automation systems.
• Interpret machine readouts and adjust parameters to account for material variances and quality thresholds.
• Perform frequent quality inspections to ensure all products meet the high standards of the Woodstock facility.
• Assist with machine changeovers by operating overhead cranes to swap industrial fixtures.
• Set up and calibrate pre-programmed automation systems for daily production runs.
• Record precise production data in computerized systems, including hourly output, scrap, and downtime.
• Maintain strict part traceability through accurate data entry and logging.
• Conduct thorough pre-shift cell inspections to ensure all safety guards and mechanical components are functional.
• Identify and report safety or production concerns to management before equipment start-up.
• Execute end-of-shift housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe manufacturing & logistics environment.
• Contribute to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
• Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, including OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
• Support the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with IATF 16949 requirements.
• Utilize knowledge of automated welding processes to troubleshoot production issues within the manufacturing & logistics cell.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Technician or in a similar robotics-heavy role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in manufacturing is an asset.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule (Days/Afternoons) or steady Nights.
• Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing & logistics environment is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HSE standards (ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001).
• Comfort working with overhead cranes and heavy industrial fixtures.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal) for accurate data logging and team communication.
• Reliable transportation to the Woodstock facility.
• Advanced proficiency in operating industrial robotics and fixed automation.
• Strong technical aptitude for interpreting complex machine readouts and adjusting parameters.
• Experience with computerized data entry and production tracking software.
• Mechanical inclination for performing machine calibrations and basic troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of automated welding or specialized automotive assembly processes.
• Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) or Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes safely for fixture changes.
• Exceptional attention to detail for quality inspections and part traceability.
