Responsibilities
As a Material Handler, you will be entrusted with a variety of crucial tasks to ensure the seamless operation of the facility. Your primary duties will include:
Operating an electric counterbalance forklift and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials.
Transporting raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to and from storage areas, production lines, and loading docks.
Receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against shipping documents, and noting any discrepancies or damages.
Picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging to prevent damage.
Conducting regular inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate records of stock levels.
Utilizing inventory management software to track materials, update records, and generate reports.
Ensuring that all materials are stored in their designated locations in an orderly and accessible manner.
Performing routine pre-operation and post-operation safety checks on the forklift and other equipment.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to all company safety policies and provincial regulations.
Collaborating effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate the flow of materials and meet production schedules
Qualifications
To be considered for this Material Handler position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
High school diploma or equivalent.
A valid and current forklift certification for an electric counterbalance forklift is mandatory.
Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution center.
Demonstrated experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Flexibility to work a rotating 2-week day and afternoon shift schedule.
Based in or able to reliably commute to Woodstock, Ontario.
