Responsibilities
Responsibilities

As the Material Planner, you will be entrusted with a variety of critical responsibilities essential to the success of the supply chain and production operations. Your primary duty is to ensure that all materials are available when and where they are needed, preventing delays and optimizing inventory levels.

Inventory and Materials Management: Actively monitor inventory levels, track material usage, and analyze data to forecast future needs. You will be responsible for creating and executing cycle counts based on a set schedule, meticulously entering the data into the ERP system, and maintaining all related documentation for the program.

ERP/MRP System Operation: Utilize the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems (experience with JDE is a significant asset) to manage material requirements, process orders, and maintain data integrity. This includes generating reports and analyzing system data to identify potential shortages or surpluses.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between multiple departments, including procurement, logistics, accounting, and customer service. Your role as the Material Planner is to facilitate clear communication to ensure the timely delivery of materials and finished products, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.

Logistical Coordination: Coordinate the movement of materials within the facility. This includes hands-on tasks such as operating a forklift to move, stage, and store materials safely and efficiently, ensuring the production floor is always well-stocked.

Reporting and Analysis: Assist in maintaining and generating accurate records and reports related to inventory, material flow, and supplier performance. Your analytical skills will be crucial for identifying trends, suggesting process improvements, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the manufacturing & logistics operations.

Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance material planning processes, reduce waste, and improve accuracy. A successful Material Planner continuously seeks ways to optimize the supply chain for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

To be considered for this Material Planner position, candidates must meet the following qualifications. We are looking for a dedicated professional ready to make an immediate impact.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field within manufacturing & logistics is a strong asset.

A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a material planning, scheduling, or inventory control role.

Demonstrable experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

A valid forklift license and proven experience in operating material handling equipment.

Strong analytical abilities and a proven track record of effective problem-solving.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
