In this role, you will be accountable for the precise processing and production of high-quality beef, pork, lamb, and other protein products, while ensuring strict adherence to premium brand specifications and safety standards.
Title: Meat Processor
Position: Permanent
Location: Richmond, BC
Start Date: As soon as possible
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour with scheduled wage increases as per collective agreement
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday
Shift Time: 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Responsibilities
• Cut, trim, and portion beef, pork, lamb, and other protein products to precise company specifications and premium quality standards.
• Maintain and upkeep rigid safety and sanitation standards across the entire production floor to ensure a secure working environment.
• Inspect the quality of all received raw products thoroughly, verifying that all expiration dates and storage conditions are correct prior to processing.
• Package, seal, and arrange finished protein products carefully according to specific customer and retail delivery orders.
• Sterilize, clean, and sharpen all tools, knives, and machinery prior to the end of each shift to fulfill strict food safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ensure the proper weight, product description, and manufacturing dates are accurately recorded and printed on all labels before final packaging.
• Monitor production line flows and cooperate with team members to optimize daily output within the manufacturing & logistics facility.
• Report any machinery malfunctions, safety hazards, or product inconsistencies immediately to the Production Manager.
• Perform additional operational, inventory handling, and sanitization duties as assigned by the leadership team.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements & Environment:
•Physical Stamina & Strength: High physical fitness, stamina, and resilience to sustain prolonged periods of standing, walking, and executing repetitive hand movements; must be able to regularly lift, carry, and move objects weighing 30+ lbs.
•Environment Adaptability: Strong willingness to work hands-on with raw meat products (beef, pork, lamb) daily, and comfort working in a consistently cold, refrigerated environment.
Technical Skills & Operations:
•Equipment Handling: Ability to safely and effectively use industrial cutting tools, knives, and specialized food processing equipment.
•Precision & Math: Exceptional attention to detail for precise portion control and weight accuracy, backed by basic mathematical skills to verify counts, dates, and inventory.
•Dexterity: Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination required for efficient, repetitive material handling tasks.
Safety, Teamwork & Productivity:
•Compliance: A strong commitment to strict workplace safety practices, personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, and food hygiene standards.
•Efficiency & Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate smoothly with the Production Manager and team, alongside strong time-management capabilities to meet daily deadlines in a high-volume facility.
•Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a specialized role that blends technical hand skills with modern manufacturing and logistics processes.
