Our Client is seeking a skilled Mechanical / Structural Engineer to join their Edmonton team. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will serve as a technical cornerstone for the engineering department , ensuring designs are robust, compliant, and effectively executed from concept to fabrication.

Responsibilities
Structural Engineering: Execute the design of steel structures in alignment with CSA S-16, NBCC, and relevant industry codes.
Technical Compliance: Analyze client requirements to ensure all engineering designs satisfy external specifications and internal standards.
Quality Assurance: Audit and approve detailed shop drawings for precision and technical integrity.
Engineering Support: Produce essential calculations and technical documentation for both internal teams and external clients.
Regulatory Liaison: Coordinate with local regulatory bodies to secure design registrations for pressure piping and equipment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with process engineers, project managers, and drafting teams to deliver projects on schedule.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the evolution of internal technical standards and product development.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable engineering role is required.
Professional Status: Must be registered with a Canadian Engineering Professional Association; APEGA membership is highly preferred.
Software Proficiency: Skilled in utilizing specialized software for pressure vessel design, heat exchangers, structural analysis, and piping stress.
Key Competencies:
Ability to manage multiple project streams simultaneously.
Foundational understanding of Project Management.
Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a significant advantage.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
